SimSIC

The purpose of SimSIC is to support health care and improvement initiatives, through simulation as a method. This could, for example, concern waiting times and queuing situations, the effects of different planning and scheduling alternatives, or to help in creating a better understanding of a certain process.

Simulation of this type involves building a computerized model of a simplified reality, where different scenarios or options can be tested and it is possible to study the consequences in terms of chosen performance indicators. By in advance testing the considered changes in a model, the wished for end result might be possible to reach sooner, since it increases the chance to have taken the right decisions when one finally decides to act.

SimSIC’s simulation models are already used as support in several counties.

SimSIC is partly funded by SALAR (Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions).
